25 Things About me challenge

Hey all I was tagged by Mike Bush a fellow student Starting with Marketing student and Friend to write 25 things about me.

So this  is quite difficult it is like being at a Job Interview and  I hate job interviews,  that is why I choose to work for myself. So where to begin, well why not at the beginning.

1) I was born in South Africa to parents who originally came from Sheffield, England. Which is where I am currently living. Although one of my dreams is to be able to live in South Africa six months of the year, by the coast.

2) I love summer, everyone is out and about. Mixing and enjoying the weather.

3) I am a terriable singer. When I was at primary school the music teacher made me join the choir, but my parents refused to let me go. Why? because they knew I couldn’t sing and would be much better doing something I was good at like Netball and Computers.

4) I love to travel, there are some really beautiful places in the world. Uluru in Australia was a special place for me. After visiting my life changed, I lost loads of weight, felt better about myself and had the confidence to say I want something different.

5) I learnt to swim later in life, because as a child I was allergic to Chlorine, not a good thing for a child born in South Africa where you are surrounded by pools. Now I love to snorkel in the sea when I get the chance.

6) I love to play golf, currently a high handicapper of 36 but working on reducing it.

7) I love movies and going out to the cinema. You can’t beat the big screen. Recent movies that I have seen is District 9 and A Perfect Getaway, both brillant.

I am an ex school teacher – a very challenging job with some really emotional times both good and bad, the good far out weight the bad though.

9) I ran an Internet Cafe and computer business for two and half years in South Africa, based in the Shelly Centre. Stop by and visit the new owners at DTS.

10) I am a Gemini, always on the go, constantly changing and seeing what is out there.

11) I love adventure, whether it is Paintballing, quad biking, snorkeling or riding the biggest rollercoasters and I am always the first with my hand up to have ago.

12) Every year I set myself a target to learn something new. Recent areas have been learning programming languages, photoshop and most recently Spanish (Hola!). Now busy learning how to become an Internet Entrepreneur

13) I like driving and have driven many cars including Hyundais, Opels/Vauxhalls, Fords, Toyotas, Range Rovers, Fiats, Mercedes, Audis, Volkswagon, Honda and Chrysler. Not sure of my favourite still working that out. Dream cars that I would like to try Porseche and Aston Martin.

14) I love my family, we try and all go on holiday together at least once a year.

15) I try and keep in touch with all my friends, hence Facebook, Skype and email are my tools of communication.

16) Favourite TV Programmes, Jam and Jerusalem, Burn Notice, NCIS, and CSI. Oh and The Lady Detective Agency

17) When I was 11 my mother was ill with flu we used this opportunity to get a dog. Sandy was a beautiful American Spanial and loved by all the family especially my mom.

18) I love watching Rugby I support Sharks and Springboks. At the moment Sharks are doing well in the Currie Cup. Springboks have just won the Tri-Nations.

19) I keep trying to reinvent the wheel, which holds me up, and can prevent me from achieving. This is why I am using an Action Plan, and writing down daily tasks I must achieve.

20) I am working through the Dean Holland Starting with Marketing course. Which I abolutely love. He presents everything in such a clear and focused way.

21) I love change. The saying  “Change is as good as a rest” was definitely written for me.

22) People say that I am soft hearted as I am always trying to help others.

23) In March I went to a psyhic who told me I had the power, so some friends and I had a go a reading cards sessions at a party, well if I say so myself I was spot on with everyone, some happy faces some not so happy.

24) I hate the cold. My hands always feel like they are going to drop off and often turn blue.

25) I love gadgets and computers. I am not sure that I could function without access to computer for more than a week. Mybe that will be a target the next holiday I go on not to have to take and use my computer. (Maybe, maybe not)
