Module 3 – Traffic Tanks
ByDean Holland launched Module 3 of his Starting with marketing (SWM) course this week. Once again the delivery was excellent with important information broken down into manageable chunks, great for newbies to get their teeth into and gain the necessary skills to becoming an Internet Entrepreneur.
So why is traffic important?
Like any business you need customers, and in the online world traffic = customers and customers = cash.
“How to get targeted Traffic”?
Well it’s a fact that one of the BIGGEST problems for people online is the lack of traffic. So what techniques can we use to get targeted traffic?
There are two types of traffic. Free and Paid. What is the difference besides the difference in your wallet?
Paid – The most common method is Pay Per Click (PPC), this is the sponsored links that you see in the search engines such as Google. Another method is the use of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) companies.
Free – This type of traffic requires regular action from you. The best method is using Social Media to interact with the online community that continues to grow. Use Twitter to tell people about yourself, your interests but remember “Do not sell to them on Twitter”. Visit blogs and interact on forums with common interests.
So get interacting with the online community and see your traffic increase and your bank balance!!!

Hi Kerie
Nice looking clean and crisp site. You are right, there are two ways to drive traffic. Everyone has a choice between TIME & MONEY. Since I am cheap, I am using my time.
Keep up your good work!
Roger Neumann
Go out and make it a successful day!
Hi Kerie
How are you? I agree the best traffic method is to use social media because it results in instant traffic..Dean explain well the principles of driving targeted traffic, so in a few weeks should have loads of traffic coming to the blog..and you know what that means
Avis
Hey Kerie,
Like you said, the biggest hurdle for people is “No Traffic = No Cash”
That’s nothing you need to worry about though….because your blog is looking great. Your writing style and informative posts will have visitors coming back for more!
Take care,
Alan
Hey Alan
Thanks for the great comments.
Cheers
Kerie
Hey Avis
I think as group we are all achieving and so quickly. Its also great to interact with so many other people.
Kerie
Hi Roger
I am certainly the same, cheap!!! It must be because I am Yorkshire decent, we are known for our closed wallets, but I feel that time is one of the most precious things we have. We can achieve so much if we use it properly, look at Dean and the success he is achieving.
Kerie
Hey Kerie,
but they don’t hold it against me
It’s not cheap it’s smart – although i know what you mean about closed wallet’s my whole family is from Yorkshire apart from me – i’m from Lancashire
Great blog Kerrie, i’ll pop back soon
Trude
Hi Kerie,
Your blog looks great! To think a couple of months ago I couldn’t tell you what a Flexx theme even was.
Twitter away, the right way, and put some cash in your pocket. Now we know. We are no longer unarmed, and we will do great!
All the best,
Ed
Hey Trude
I am glad that they don’t hold it against you. I definitely agree its smart and not cheap.
Check you later
Kerie
Hey Ed
I was the same way, I didn’t even know about WordPress, although I knew html and CSS as I had taken a short course on it, but to tell you the truth Deans videos certainly helped and made it so simple. We will certainly do great!
Kerie
Hi Kerie
So true about the biggest problem being a lack of traffic. I’ve experienced it myself. Now using the tactics from this current module.
Ian
Kerie
Great post on traffic basics.
As a fellow newbie I think it all comes down to the time v money debate at this stage, and for me its all about free methods until I start to get things moving when I can ramp up the business by adding paid techniques.
All the best
Tom
Kerie,

Kerie
Hi Tom
I am like you it is all the free methods then once I earning from the internet I will move into paid methods (maybe).
Kerie
Hi Kerie
You are right the best free way is to start interacting in the online community. Forums and other blogs! You get traffic and its free.
Jim
Hey Kerie
Thanks for dropping by my blog..!!
Yeah.!!
I agree entirely…
Because if you want a list… and you “gotta have one”
Then you need Traffic.
The FREE’R The Better…!!

Irrespective of time or money, which is the most productive.
Oh hi Kerie
Hi Kerie!!
Good thing you reminded me about the free or paid. I read something this morning on PPC and how it doesn’t like some things internet marketers do. Anyway I like FREE, I can tweet and blog hop all day if you let me!!
Now to get that targeted traffic….on my way!!
Take care! Great blog!
Lisa~

Thanks for dropping by. It has been great visiting everybodies blogs.
My surname is not unusual in Yorkshire partically West Yorkshire, with different varientions of the spelling, like Hinchliffe, Hinchliff and Hinchcliffe.
Will keep visiting your great blog.
Kerie
Hey Heather
Thanks for the visit
Kerie
Hi all
@Lisa I love free as well. I like the socializing part, as it dosen’t feel like work.
@Malcolm I agree you can only build a list if people know you are there.
@Tom Good question, which do you feel is the most productive.
Cheers Kerie
Hi Kerie,
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. That’s what this is all about isn’t it. The comments are great for building links, building a reputation, relationships etc but the most important aspect I have found is simply building confidence and momentum. When you see comments on your blog then you know it works. So you do it some more and the ball starts rolling.
And you even get to learn stuff from other folks. How about that.
Best wishes
Andy

Hi Kerie,
I think the best is of course free traffic. I was burned by Google Adwords before even when I had good quality scores. That greedy bastard(aka mr.google) kept increasing the minimum bid price and made me have poor quality score at the end…….
I’m more than willing to learn how to generate sustainable traffic on a consistent basis that is no cost or next to no cost.
Guess we’ll keep learning more from Dean and see what else we can pick up.

Hi Andy
I know what you mean I have learn’t so much from other peoples blog, and all of it free quality information.
Kerie
Hi Huddson
I was burned a few years ago, cost me a fortune on ebay and adwords to sell 1 product for £9.99
So now I am following what Dean and his fellow advisors are saying.
Thanks Kerie
